What are magic wands for?

Whether you want a unique gift for that special Sci-fi and Fantasy fan, want
to run a magic wand decorating workshop in the comfort of your own home, are
looking for the perfect addition to your Cosplay/Fancy Dress costume, or want
gifts to give as favours for your party, these handmade magic wands could be
just what you're looking for. They make fun decorations and are great for
dressing up.

How are magic wands made?

These wands are approximately 14 1/2 inches and are currently the largest size
I do. Each magic wand is handmade and started life as a stainless steel
chopstick for Chinese hotpot. I've used a hot glue to create a completely
original design, some of them even have roses an other moulded details, while
others are more organic or have spirals. While they're nice as they are, they
are deliberately unfinished for you to add your own personal touch. You can
either buy them unpainted or some I've given a layer of spray paint for you as
a base to decorate. Please do get in touch if you have a particular type of
design in mind; otherwise, I'll just pick the one I think would suit you best -
unfortunately, there are too many for me to list individually.

How to decorate them:

You can add your own designs and embellishments. Water-based paints, such as
acrylics, work very well, as do nail varnishes, glitter and gem stones. You can
add a layer of varnish at the end to make sure the magic wand is extra durable.

About Western Spiral Art:

The aim of "Western Spiral Art" is to inspire the next generation of Makers
and reunite people with their long-lost glue guns, inspiring you to have a go
at making these simple crafts at home. We sell these magic wands at our craft
workshops at Sci-fi, Fantasy and Maker events, though lots of people recreate
the experience in the comfort of their living room. I always love to see the
finished result, so feel free to send me photos of you and your designs so I
can share with our maker community on social media.

Happy Making!
