Red Leaves Hair Pin, Shawl Pin -- Bright Red Autumn Triple Leaves, Brass Wire Spirals, Swarovski Crystal, Three Leaf Hair Ornament

This red leaves hair decoration is based on an Amish-made heavy duty stainless
steel U-shaped hairpin. On top of the pin sits a trio of leaves that I have
hand-colored in bright red-orange shades. Loops and spirals of tarnish
resistant antique brass colored enameled copper wire decorate the leaves and
fasten them to the pin, and a pair of sparkling Swarovski crystals sparkles at
the base of the leaves.

I have created the colors of the leaves myself using permanent, waterproof
alcohol inks, and sealed them with a weatherproof gloss varnish. The back side
of the leaves is yellow raw brass.

This type of pin also works well as a shawl or scarf pin for any fabric with a
relatively loose weave or knit. If you would like to use this piece as a shawl
pin, I will include a pair of rubber stoppers for the pin ends that will keep
them from sliding out. Simply mention in your order that you would like
stoppers or would like a shawl pin.

The leaves are slightly over 1 1/8" across and approximately 1 3/8" tall, and
the steel pin extends for approximately 2 5/8" below the leaves. For heavier or
thicker hair, the pin is best used as a decorative element -- put up the hair
with a stick, bun, or other method of your choice, and then insert the pin as a
decoration. You can also insert the pin to decorate hair that has been tied
back simply or braided.
